Park District staff are working toward completing a Land Use Plan (LUP) for Vargas Plateau Regional Park, located in the Fremont hills. Park Planners are currently finishing up the Draft LUP. However, time is needed to study some important issues regarding road access. When these issues are addressed, the Draft LUP will be completed and released for public review, tentatively scheduled for summer 2007.

The Draft LUP will discuss the proposed park facilities and trails, parking, recreation opportunities, natural resource management, and public safety. It will include public input that has been gathered since last year from letters and the Public Open House held in July 2006. We have also used this input to scope out the issues evaluated in the environmental review (CEQA) document.

When the Draft LUP and environmental review document are complete, we will provide notice by mail and on this website. At that time there will be a public review period and a public meeting to provide additional comments after reviewing the documents.
