Fire Weather-Related Park Restrictions
The following restrictions are in effect for Black Diamond, Morgan Territory, and Round Valley--no smoking, no open campfires (BBQs are permitted). All other Regional parks and trails are open with no restrictions.
Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area
The San Pablo Dam Reservoir located to the east of the park will under go a major construction project lasting for about two years. This construction project will begin July 14 and will affect the park entrances to Kennedy Grove depending on the day of the week. See the Kennedy Grove Web page for information.
Redwood Regional Park
The following trails will be closed weekdays only, beginning as soon as Tuesday, July 15, and lasting possibly through September, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a hazardous tree and fuel mitigation project: Phillips’ Loop, Eucalyptus Trail, and East Ridge Trail between Skyline Gate and Prince Trail. Equestrians and hikers may use Stream and Prince trails to bypass the project zone. Bicyclists will not be able to bypass the project zone and will need to turn around at the junction of East Ridge and Prince trails. For your safety, please observe these trail closures.
Contra Loma Regional Park
The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) has lowered the reservoir about 6.5 feet. The 2 fishing docks are currently closed as is fishing from the boat launch dock. Boat launch remains open.

The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) is planning to lower the reservoir depth after scheduled fishing derbies in October. CCWD will lower the reservoir 20 feet to complete an elevation gage project near the dam. This will close the two fishing docks as well. Back to top
